Goal # 6 – Create Safe School Policies [Element 6]
Objective 6.1
Safe Schools/Healthy Students Grant community partners and stakeholders examine the various dimensions contributing to safe schools and either develop or revise safe school policies and procedures.
Performance Indicators:
6.1.1 By June 2007, both school systems will have reviewed their current safe and drug-free school policies and made revisions where needed based on committee feedback. Element 6 Process Indicator
6.1.2 By June 2007, all schools will conduct parent and community information sessions to gather input on safe and drug-free school policies and procedures.
6.1.3 By December 2007, the two local Boards of Education will adopt and/or revise safe school policies and procedures. Element 6 Outcome Indicator
6.1.4 By June 2008, school personnel and community partners’ self-reported knowledge of safe school policies will increase by 20% as compared to 2005 – 06 survey results. Element 6 Outcome Indicator
Disseminate through parent and community sessions and various media outlets the safe school policies and procedures.
Performance Indicators:
6.2.1 By June 2007, a minimum of 300 participants will attend parent and community sessions focusing on safe school policies. Element 6 Process Indicator
6.2.2 By June 2008, a total of 20 announcements will be disseminated through the various media outlets. Element 6 Process Indicator
6.2.3 By June 2008, a public information session on safe school policies will be offered at every public school and early childhood center. Element 6 Process Indicator
