Goal # 4 – Increase Early Childhood Psychosocial and Emotional Development Services [Element 4]

 

Objective 4.1

Provide early childhood center staff with training for creating and maintaining a socially and emotionally safe environment.

 

Performance Indicator:

 

4.1.1        By December 2006, all early childhood center staff will be trained on creating

comfortable, safe school setting. Element 4 Process Indicator

           

Objective 4.2

Provide training to early childhood center staff in identification and intervention strategies for managing developmentally inappropriate behaviors.

 

Performance Indicator:

 

4.2.1        By September 2006, all early childhood center staff will be trained to identify and to intervene with children exhibiting developmentally inappropriate behaviors. Element 4 Process Indicator

 

Objective 4.3

Provide training, consultation and referrals for comprehensive services to families for building external and internal assets that develop healthy students and families.

 

Performance Indicator:

 

4.3.1        By June 2008, early childhood center parents will routinely have been provided  training sessions on external and internal asset-building to develop healthy students and families. Element 4 Process Indicator

4.3.2        By December 2007, referrals for mental health services for students and/or

families will increase by 15% as compared to 2004 – 05 school year data.

4.3.3        By June 2007, families will routinely be trained on Search Institute’s Developmental Assets Model. Element 4 Process Indicator

 

Objective 4.4

Provide assistance for early childhood teachers, center directors and parents for children with developmentally inappropriate behaviors.

 

Performance Indicators:

 

4.4.1        By December 2006, all parents will receive age-appropriate development activities and materials for use with identified children ages 0 – 5 in the home.

4.4.2        By June 2006, behavior management assistants will be employed to identify and develop strategies for children exhibiting developmentally inappropriate behaviors. Element 4 Process Indicator
